Biography

Tanja N. Reid is a 42-year-old Jamaican-Canadian, busy, homeschooling mother of five children, ages 17, 15, 13, 7 and 2. She’s been in the fitness industry for about 20 years as an athlete, coach, trainer and nutrition consultant.
Tanja was a full-scholarship Track athlete at the University of Iowa and the University of Georgia. She ran for Team Canada at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, B.C. and ended her track career after she competed at the 1996 Olympic Trials. She has a diploma in Fitness and Nutrition – which she received after having her third child. Then she became a certified Black Belt Martial Arts student, certified Chief Instructor with school owner training from Choi Kwang Do Martial Arts International (CKDMAI) after having her fourth child.
The former NCAA All-American collegiate athlete and former Canadian sprinter, combines her background in track & field, fitness, nutrition and martial arts techniques to create a balanced, back-to-basics, keep-it-simple holistic approach to obtaining optimum health.
Tanja believes that anything is possible and lives by the idea that success is a result of setting your mind on something, never giving up and taking the necessary steps to accomplish your goals. She is very passionate about health and fitness and helping others achieve their goals. She’s currently studying to become a Relaxation Therapist, while training for her 2nd Degree Black Belt.
Tanja loves cooking, baking and experimenting with new recipes or finding creative ways to make traditional meals and desserts healthier! Tanja also enjoys reading, writing, relaxing on the beach, watching movies, and playing games and sports with her kids. Her hobbies include drawing and painting with watercolor, acrylic and oils, on canvas. She currently resides in Ontario, Canada with her five children.
