Biography

In April 2014, John-Mark Mitchell, CRS, GRI took his twenty-plus years of real estate experience and became the owner/broker for his own luxury real estate firm—Mitchell Prime Properties. He recognized that it was time to take this bold step and branch out into his area of expertise, which is high-end real estate. Driven by
a strong desire to create a real estate culture based on his proven success strategies, John-Mark has blazed a distinct trail in his market.
John-Mark graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government Pre-Law and was always active on his campus with the Student Government. He’s also been featured in Who’s Who and Outstanding Young Men of America. The experiences and skills gained from these experiences have been fundamental for John-Mark in building his real estate career and becoming known for his tagline, “The Art of Selling Well.”
Choosing real estate over law school, John-Mark entered into the business early on, becoming a top producer within a short amount of time and gaining recognition as the top agent for twelve consecutive years for the largest real estate company in Winston- Salem. He later became a partner with Yost and Little Realty in 2007, a high-end property company and was a member of Christies Great Estates. In 2008, he received a Movers and Shakers Award. The company was sold in 2010 and John-Mark joined a company out of Seattle, Washington, called eXp Realty International, where he launched their luxury division and continued his success as a top producer, receiving Top Agent International acknowledgement for 2011, 2012, and 2013. He remains a shareholder in the company. As of 2012, he also serves as First Broker in Charge for Concierge Auctions for the state of North Carolina.
In 1998, John-Mark started a high-end home magazine for the Triad area, which is known as Fine Homes Magazine today. A firm believer in giving back, John-Mark co-founded a local charity for the homeless in the Winston-Salem area, known as B.R.A.C.E., which stands for Builders and Realtors Active in Community Efforts and received the Governor’s Award for his efforts. John-Mark is also a co-author with Jack Canfield for the book, The Soul of Success, and is the featured realtor in the May 2015 issue of Top Agent.
John-Mark credits his parents, family, and friends for their continued guidance and support in his life. He’s particularly grateful to his mother Mabelline Mitchell, who has always inspired him to give his best efforts in business, even when it was not easy to do. A fun claim to fame for John-Mark is that he won the title of Mr. Winston-Salem in the 1990s. He is also published in poetry and is an avid reader, plus enjoys playing the piano—especially Beethoven and Mozart.
