Biography

Liz Shartel is a personal growth, education advocate and charity sponsor. She is the founder of Beacons Community Space located in Denver’s Cherry Creek North, and started The Women’s Exchange of Colorado.
By creating a gathering place for a wide array of educational, cultural, and social events, Liz connects people through a love of camaraderie, learning, and making a difference through community collaboration. From morning workshops, support groups, and networking events… to evening book signings, fundraisers, and speakers…Beacons’ focus is on life-enrichment.
Liz Shartel began her journey of life-learning when she discovered and attended the Byron Katie “School for the Work” during a difficult time in her life. She subsequently participated in workshops with Janet and Chris Attwood, Jack Canfield, Louise Hay, Cheryl Richardson, and Master Stephen Co. She is a Certified Facilitator for The Passion Test. Her mission is to bring good into light, and to be a light of hope to those needing support.
Liz graduated from Kansas State University, and is the daughter of Betty and Shelby Smith of Wichita, Kansas. She divides her time between Colorado and New York, where her three young-adult children reside.
