Biography
Hal Lonas is the Chief Technology Officer at Webroot, a privately held Internet security firm that provides state-of-the-art, cloud based endpoint security and threat intelligence software and service solutions. Mr. Lonas has a special interest in machine learning and automation as applied to security problems as legacy systems become overrun by new threats.
Previously the Senior VP of Product Engineering for Webroot, Mr. Lonas has more than 25 years of engineering development and management experience in software ventures from startups to Fortune 500 firms. He joined Webroot via the acquisition of BrightCloud, where he was a founder and VP Engineering. In the past Mr. Lonas has held key engineering management positions with Websense (WBSN), ADP and others, and has co-authored numerous patents. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT.
