Doug Schwaberow and Achieve Fitness, Mount Vernon, OH Doug Schwaberow graduated from Walsh University with a degree in Corporate Communications and went on to be an Arena League professional football player. He was always intrigued with exercise, with anatomy, so he worked as a trainer his junior and senior years of college. As a professional athlete, he got an inside look at what a physical therapist does, the training and rehab. After getting his certification in ISSA Fitness, he combined this with his personal experience, what worked for him and what didn’t. He didn’t stop there; he got other certifications in CSCS, TRX, Kettlebell and USAW. The man was hooked. Why keep learning? “If you are not getting better, you are getting worse,” is a motto he lives his life and career by. Three years ago, he took over personal training at Achieve Fitness in Mount Vernon, OH, when the club decided to go in a different direction. That new direction was Douglas, plain and simple. And he has yet to disappoint. He jumped head first into taking business seminars coupled with continuing education on fitness and wellness. He put together a solid business plan to change the way fitness was done in Ohio. He created programs that would be effective for all his clients across the board.
